Abstract
The paper examines how economic decisions can be made on the basis of large-scale data streams (Big Data) in the adaptive management of higher education institutions. The sharp rise in Uzbekistan’s higher education enrolment rate in 2014–2024 is analysed as evidence of volatile demand, and students’ digital activity is assessed as a new source of data. Data sources within a higher education institution and the economic decisions they support are systematised, and a six-stage adaptive management cycle is proposed.
