Abstract
The gut microbiota has emerged as an important modulator of cancer development, progression, and treatment response, influencing systemic immunity, local inflammation, and even the metabolism of chemotherapeutic and immunotherapeutic agents. This recognition has motivated a new generation of nanotherapeutic strategies designed either to reshape the composition of the gut microbiota therapeutically or to exploit specific microbial features for targeted anticancer drug delivery.
